I have just started to applique the tree into the quilt background. This is the first time I have done machine applique & I am loving how fast you can see progress. I am also loving my new machine, a great new toy.Tomorrow I am leaving on a cruise to The Whitsundays, very excited. I am being good & haven't packed any stitching so it will have to wait until I return. Have a good week. Happy stitching.

Woodland Magic
I found a new gorgeous fabric store close to home. Yippee. Rainbow Patchwork in Lismore, they have some beautiful fabrics. I selected these to use in Woodland Magic a Natalie Ross project. this will be a gift for a work colleague who is soon to be a Mum for the second time.

2 more projects finished. Yippee
I am very happy to say that I finished my skirt today. It is the first piece of clothing I have made that I will actually wear it & it fits so that is a huge bonus.
This weekend also saw the completion of my retreat seat from Jukejema Quilting Retreat that I attended in August. It is a Natalie Ross In Stitches project. Thanks Nat for a great project that I really enjoyed making.
I havent put the cushion insert in yet but looks great anyway
I thought I would share some photos of the beautiful flowers I have been very spoilt to receive this week. I only wish I could share the gorgeous scent that is wafting through the whole house from them.
This carnation is positively green, I have never seen anything like it before.
Have a great week. Happy Stitching.
Why A Cup Full of Stitches?
After reading some great posts about why everyone chose the name they have for their blog I thought I would share my own reason. After the most difficult 2 years in my life (so far) having a child with cancer and dealing with my husband walking out on us, I decided it was time to look at the "cup being half full" side of life. It has changed my outlook on life and my love for stitching is so often accompanied by a hot cup of tea. So A Cup Full of Stitches it is. Have a great week.

Block keeper
Hi, this weekend I managed to finish the beautiful Natalie Ross block keeper from the Jukejema quilting retreat in August. It is so good to finally finish a project from the retreat & Natalie's design is gorgeous. Here is the front & back covers
And also the great pockets inside. Now to find some stitching to keep in here. That shouldnt be too hard.
I also bought this cute fabrice to have my first attempt at a simple skirt. Hopefully pictures to follow soon.
Hopefully everyone had a great weekend. Keep on stitching.

What a week
It has been a huge week. I hadn't been able to get back to my quilt top for over a week & spent most of the week finishing off some unfinished projects. I had two wall hangings I bought at the quilt show in Sydney about 8 years ago. They are finally finished & my girls are probably too old to want them now, but at least they are off the UFO list.
Next I attempted to finish my 12 Days of Christmas. I finished stitching it almost a year ago. It was given to me by my very dear friend Ann to fill in my time while my son was undergoing cancer treatment in Brisbane. I taped it to the window & stitched away at the hospital for hours on end. Unfortunately I have traced & stitched it crooked and no matter how hard I try I can't get it straight on the background fabric. It is finished but I am cranky with myself for not taking more care. I was very new to stitching back then & will certainly have another go at that project.
Saturday came & finally I got time to sit and complete the quilt top for my Homespun stitch a long. I am very happy with it. Now i just have the dilemma of how to quilt it.
Then last night I started stitching the gorgeous angel for my block keeper from the wonderful Jukejema retreat in August. I began putting the cover together today and i am looking forward to getting back into this project next weekend.

It is been a great weekend for achieving some progress and I am enjoying my stitching enormously at the minute. I will finish off a few projects and am keen to start another big one. Until next time happy stitching to everyone.
