About Me

My photo
I started stitching a few years ago thanks to a very dear friend. She has encouraged and taught me so much. I am the Mum of three great kids who I love dearly. I love to stitch in my spare time and even though I am a newbie I enjoy it very much.

Cutting cutting cutting........

Well I think I have just about had enough cutting out for a while, time to get back into the fun part...Stitching. I spent a nice wet Australia Day and last night cutting fabric for Gardeners Journal and Tis the Season. I love the colours in Gardeners Journal and I am hoping to start stitching Block A today. Hah I have a 13 year old girls birthday sleep over....dont think there will be much stitching going on, although there is bound to be no sleeping either.

I had bought fabric for TTS before christmas and then I wasnt so sure of the colours. Turns out my Mum loves them so I bought some more. I never need an excuse to go shopping. Thus for the stitch a long with friends Susan (Thimble Stitch) and Ann (Lavender Blue Stitches) I will be doing two TTS quilts.

One in nice rusty reds for my Mum

And this unusual green for me.
Have a great weekend all.
Happy stitching. xox

Belated Happy New Year

A very late Happy New Year to everyone. What a busy few weeks it has been. I spent a lovely few days away with good friends over the christmas new year period and got some lovely stitching time with my dear friend Ann (Lavender Blue Stitches) I also managed to sell my house and move out. So I made myself promise that I wouldn't sew until everything was organised and now that it is done I am very keen to get into my stitching again. Ann & I had a very nice shopping trip to Hatched & Patched in Bathurst so I have come home with no shortage of projects to do.

Below is the first four stitcherier for the BOM - Beautiful Life. They have been great fun to do and I will start sewing the squares together very soon.

This is my first lesson in needleturn applique on the The Angel Toolstore from Hatched & Patched. Thanks to my friend Ann for being a very patient teacher.

These lovely fabrics I bought at Rainbow Patchwork on Saturday. I saw the colours and just couldn't resist, they are very unusual and I love them. i think i will use them for Tis the Season. I already have some fabric for that but I am sure it can be used somewhere else.

This is the lovely bundle of fabrics Annie so wonderfully put together for me when we were in Hatched & Patched for A Gardeners Journal. Just gorgeous colours, cant wait to start this one. The second picture is the fabric for a friendship bag that Annie also picked out for me. Thanks so much Annie so very clever and I just love your shop. Hatched and Patched is a must visit anytime I am close to Bathurst.

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season and I am now looking forward to GDITC in Nundle in March. Will be great.
Happy Stitching
