About Me

My photo
I started stitching a few years ago thanks to a very dear friend. She has encouraged and taught me so much. I am the Mum of three great kids who I love dearly. I love to stitch in my spare time and even though I am a newbie I enjoy it very much.

New Recruit

Yesterday I headed off to Rainbow Patchwork for some retail therapy & my two girls wanted to tag along. After browsing for a while my 11 year old decided she just had to have one of the Moda Jelly Rolls. So home we came and she asked for some help ...."How would you put the colours together Mum" So I kindly offered a few suggestions only to get Yuck Mum I am doing it like this. At 6am this morning she wandered in to my bedroom to let me know she was going to borrow my sewing machine for a little while. So after all day at my machine and the only help she has asked for has been the iron & she has put all her strips together.

The colours are a little bright for me but they are definately her. So all in all a very successful day. I couldnt get near my machine but that is okay as it has made me have a go at the swap project for GDITC. I dont think I will be able to make one good enough to swap but that is what we are going to learn. Getting very excited not long now. Have a great week everyone.

Beautiful Life

Well I feel like I haven't been on my blog for a lifetime but its only been a few weeks. I have been very busy at work and haven't had the chance to do much. Yesterday I finished my second month of Beautiful Life BOM. Even though I was very sceptical of the colours to start with they are certainly growing on me now. I love the quilt as you go method as I may actually finish this project without too much hassle.

I think this little owl is so cute.

But I think these cherries are my favourite so far. All the stitcheries are gorgeous and all the little sayings are so very true. Life is beautiful we should appreciate it more than most of us do.
It took me quite a while to understand that these circles came from behind the stitcheries and then a circle from behind this one with be on the corners of each square when it is all together. A very clever idea and it saves fabric and the amount of seams I need to sew, always.

Now I am getting more than a little excited about attending my first GDITC in under 3 weeks. So here is a peek at my name tag. Ric rac and I are not really friends as it doesnt like to co-operate with me but I gave it a go anyway. Looking forward to meeting some wonderful new people there and catching up with my very dear friend Ann who I never get to see often enough.

Have a great week. Happy Stitching.
