It was quilted by Rainbow patchwork in Lismore and has been quilted in a lovely swirl pattern she selected herself. It was a marathon visit selecting the backing fabric, quilting pattern and thread colour. I tried to step back and stay out of the decision making so she could truly call it her own.
This next quilt has been designed and made by my 11yr old daughter. Also her first attempted at quilting she has done a fantastic job. The two girls battled for the sewing machine and managed to get their quilt tops finished at almost the same time.
Miss 11 selected her jelly roll and matching charm square pack and decided on her layout all by herself. I was doubtful at first on the layout but it was her quilt so again I stayed out of the decision making. I was surprised at how well it turned out. I love the colours and it looks great now its all together. My only input was to help with maths on working out the spacing & some assistance with the binding. This one was also quilted by Rainbow patchwork in Lismore and the backing, quilting pattern and thread colour was selected in our marathon visit.
The quilting pattern is a gorgeous pattern of hearts and butterflys.
The girls will be displaying their quilts at The Airing of The Quilts in Alstonville very soon. A wonderful effort for their first time. I think I better look out or they will be trying to come to "Quilt Camps" with me soon.
I can't let my girls overshadow me too much so I have to brag that my first quilt Faithful Friend is in Readers Showcase in Homespun this month. Yippee very happy about that and a wonderful pattern I won as the prize.
Happy Stitching xox
